In honor of Her Majesty the Queen’s entering her auspicious 6th cycle in 2004, B.H.F., Bumrungrad International, and the Cardiac Children Foundation of Thailand organized a joint effort with the slogan “New Heart…New Hope”. 72 pediatric cardiac surgeries for the underprivileged children were performed throughout the country.
In 2001, B.H.F., Bumrungrad International, the Heart Center at Bumrungrad International, the Heart Foundation of Thailand, the Chin Sophonpanich Foundation and several corporate entities jointly sponsored 20 heart surgeries for underprivileged children and young adults in Thailand.
This project, sponsored by the Thomson Fund and supported by the medical team of Bumrungrad International, has provided free medical care services to a total of 100,000 underprivileged patients since 2001. Most are elderly people in 30 districts within the greater Bangkok metropolitan area.
A mobile medical team from Bumrungrad joins with staff from Bangkok Insurance Co. Ltd to provide free treatment once a year to some 10,000 villagers in Mukdahan and Sakon Nakorn provinces in northeast Thailand. A handicraft-training project in Nong Kong village, Mukdahan province, was also initiated to provide supplementary income to many underprivileged people.
B.H.F. sponsors or subsidizes the expenses for the underprivileged who require surgical procedures but cannot afford medical treatment.
Seminars, symposia, health fairs, and activities to promote public health awareness.
